    • Bruce Merrified, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, who was Professor Emeritus in Biochemistry at Rockefeller University until his death in 2006.
       
    • Award-winning science fiction writer, Octavia Butler.
       
    • Jackie Robinson, baseball legend.
       
    • Nathaniel Rosen, cellist, the first American gold medal winner of the Tschaikovsky Competition for Strings in Moscow and the first American since the legendary Van Cliburn won the piano competition.
       
    The top 75 alumni were honored at PCC's 75th anniversary in 2001.
